Comedy Central "Home Fires"
In 2001, Comedy Central asked us to dream up a series of comedy interstitials that could air throughout the four-day Thanksgiving weekend, doubling as a promotional giveaway vehicle for the brand-new Xbox gaming platform. Shot as a short film, the "Home Fires" campaign was a series of 53 hidden-camera vignettes capturing the trials and travails of the most dysfunctional family in America as they gathered together over the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Thanksgiveaway project continued through 7 years of holiday laughs, morphing as time went by to support product placement from sponsors such as Scion, Best Buy and Nintendo Wii. The project was a blast, and our annual autumn production with Comedy Central was always much-anticipated by the whole Riverstreet team.
